About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for a Wardrobe Technician to join the team at our new production, DiscoShow at the LINQ in Las Vegas. It is the primary responsibility of the Wardrobe Technician to ensure all costumes are well maintained and show ready. This position reports to the production manager. This role earns $37.5 per hour.

Primary Job Duties

  • Laundry, cleaning, steaming, and pressing of costumes for the run of the show.
  • Creating, maintaining, altering, and repairing costumes, accessories, and shoes for the successful operation of the production.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of design for costumes.
  • Attend special costume sessions or fittings when appropriate.
  • Communicate as needed with the Wardrobe Supervisor to evaluate use and function of wardrobe to ensure a smooth and efficient tech process.
  • Maintain expected levels of craftsmanship and artistic excellence.
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as requested.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 year or 4 year college degree or industry training such as FIT or Parson's
  • Five years (5) of theatrical Wardrobe experience on a large-scale production
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
  • Active knowledge of sewing including but not limited to:
  • Paper pattern makingConstruction of costumesFabric cuttingMachine sewing Installing zippers Overlock sewing Hand stitching Working with various fasteners such as zippers, snaps, hook and bar, etc.
  • Active knowledge of crafts including but not limited to:
  • Millinery, Jewelry, Footwear, Masks, Accessories
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to focus on details
  • Ability to follow sequential instructions
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to chemicals, cleansers and solvents.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal form

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional foodservice and theater environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
